Dried chiles at C-Town

I'm back from Mexico City. I am going to start blogging about my grocery stores there too because I go to Sumesa, Chedraui, Tiendas 3B, and Walmart a lot. I got Tequila Cazadores marked down from 530 pesos to 130.

Anyway, this is about Brooklyn still. The last two times I bought dried chiles at C-Town, the cashiers actually asked me which ones they were instead of just guessing. That's an improvement. Also C-Town has chiles anchos again ($8.99/lb) which is good. I got arbol ($7.99/lb) the other day and guajillo ($6.99/lb) today.

Trump is raising the price of your parmesan

To get back at the European Union for subsidizing Airbus, the Trump administration is raising the price that American consumers pay for French wines and Italian cheeses. These will go into effect on October 18. The new tax we will have to pay is 25%. This also applies to prosciutto, luxury butters like Kerrygold, "liqueurs and cordials" e.g. Campari and Fernet.

I am so mad.

Better stock up. The Trump administration is doing this to protect Boeing. But we have to suffer.

A full list of products is here. And this article is also helpful.

No More Chewing

After a grueling day of numbers today, I went for a walk. At the liquor store I bought 2 bottles of cheap whiskey and 1 bottle of cheap Scotch. At C-town I got a half gallon of milk, 2 liters of root beer, 2 liters of ginger ale, and 2 cans of chick peas. Lest you think I might chew them, I am turning them into hummus.
